Unreached --> Reached

It’s no small secret that I love my job. I get the awesome privilege of being a part of something of eternal significance – something that is affecting the nations – something that is expanding the Kingdom – something that gives me great joy. The more I study God’s story throughout history, the more excited I get to watch the story continue to unfold through PIONEERS’ 1300 missionaries worldwide.

I am proud to say that I just finished my 12th COP at PIONEERS. (COP stands for Candidate Orientation Program – c.o.p., not “police officer.”) These weeklong events are held five times a year for those who are applying to serve with PIONEERS as missionaries. With great anticipation, my team prepares for their arrival and seeks to encourage them as they pursue the next chapter –possibly overseas– in the story God is writing in their lives.

These are the faces of those who attended PIONEERS’ 2006 April COP.

Friends, here are 30 more people who are screaming, “God, YOU are worth it! YOU are worthy of praise from all peoples. YOU are worthy of any small sacrifice I may make in order to proclaim to the captives the name of the God who made them, that they might praise You. YOU are worthy of the endless goodbyes, the long plane rides, the difficulties in making a new home, the frustrations in learning a new language, the lack of visible fruit, the loneliness, the sicknesses, the tears, the struggles and the pain, even death….It’s all for You -because YOU are worth it!”

O Church, these are our heros. May our Faithful God, by His grace, enable them to fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith. (2 Tim. 4:7) May they experience work produced by faith, labor prompted by love, and endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thess. 1:3)

For all over the world, this Gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God’s grace in all its truth. (Col. 1:6)

May the peoples praise you, O God! May all the peoples praise You! (Psalm 67:3)

...I remember your poker style, Grant...fold a lot - most of the time before the flop - if you stay in you probably have something really good - might've bluffed a few times...I always remember my poker competition. :) Most of all, I like that you remember getting beat. :)
